CANCELLATION POLICY

 

We operate intensive, small-group experiences that require significant planning and upfront costs. For this reason, all bookings are made under a strict cancellation policy. Please read the following carefully before making a reservation.

Cancellation by You

Once your booking has been confirmed and payment has been made (including instalments), all payments are non-refundable if you choose to cancel for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Changes in personal circumstances
  • Illness or injury
  • Missed flights
  • Failure to obtain visas or meet travel requirements

Important: Cancelling your booking does not release you from your obligation to pay the full booking price. Any remaining instalments or outstanding balance must still be paid.

Transfer of Booking

You may request to transfer your booking to another suitable participant, subject to approval by Akhi Retreats and any applicable legal or safety requirements.

Any financial arrangements between you and the replacement participant are your sole responsibility.

Cancellation by Akhi Retreats

In rare circumstances, Akhi Retreats may need to cancel or significantly modify a trip due to:

  • Safety concerns
  • Extreme weather or environmental conditions
  • Government or legal restrictions
  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control

If we cancel a trip before it begins, you will be offered either:

  • A transfer to another available retreat or programme, or
  • A full refund of all payments made to Akhi Retreats for that trip.

Please note that Akhi Retreats is not responsible for indirect expenses such as:

  • Flights
  • Visa costs
  • Camping equipment
  • Accommodation booked separately
  • Loss of earnings or annual leave

We strongly recommend purchasing appropriate travel insurance.

Changes to Bookings

Requests to change travel dates are generally treated as:

  • Cancellation of the original booking, and
  • A new booking for the requested dates.

In limited circumstances, we may allow a transfer to another retreat or date, subject to availability and an administration fee. Approval is entirely at the discretion of Akhi Retreats and is not guaranteed.
